Kahiau is now 5 months old! He loves to sit up and play with his toys. He's still trying to be stable so once in awhile he'll face plant and wiggle his way to his belly.
Okay so this little hottie is starting young! He's already thinking, "don't you wish your boyfriend was hot like me."
When Kahiau's not posing, he's quietly snacking on his fingers. Yummy!
"I know I can do it," We love to see how our baby takes little steps of independence. OH, he's growing up so fast!

The joy of laughter

Kahiau is beginning to discover the joy of laughter. He'll sit there and stare at you waiting for you to do something funny. Babies love the "peek-a-boo" game and here Kahiau just can't get enough.

Tummy time

Face plant! Kahiau doesn't care too much for tummy time, he much rather be sitting somewhere or kicking something with his super strong baby legs. But one thing's for sure he loves to smile for his mommy taking the pictures.

Are you looking at me?

Kahiau is only 4 months old, Mike and I are amazed at how much he's changed in not only weight but in looks. We were looking at pics of him only about a month old and he looked like we were starving him compared to now. He is truly a joy in our lives!

Hot summer days!

It's summertime and this baby loves to "hang out"! He's relaxing in his swing and yes, can you tell he's not missing any meals. He's as happy as can be and is so intrigued with the camera. He could be crying and he'll stop once he sees the camera's on him!

Notice the arm... yes Kahiau has the right idea, he knows how to relax and take it easy. He put his arm there all by himself. That six legged spider is one of his favorite toys to play with during the day.

Mike's parents came for a visit earlier this month, it was their second trip since baby Kahiau was born. Both Mike and I were out doing things and the grandparents were eagerly willing to babysit, yeah! Not only did they babysit, but they washed the clothes too! Kahiau got to have a little trip to the laundry room where he enjoyed a few dollar rides on the spinning cycle of the machines! When I got home, it was so funny to see him quietly enjoying his 'okole shaking on the washing machines. Too funny!

Out with the Cousins!

Mike's cousins came for a visit about 2 weeks ago. They were all excited to go to the beach! I wasn't sure how this little guy would handle, but he did... for all ten minutes! It was fun while it lasted!
Uncle Eric and Uncle Sean with cousins, Madeline, and Taylor all enjoying lunch with their newest cousin Kahiau. I was happily surprised to find out that Duke's the resturant down by Huntington Beach is a great family place! There were keikis everywhere and Kahiau loved being held by his Uncle Sean visiting from Virginia. Those guys are naturals!

Kahiau is now four months old. He weighs just as much as some of my friends babies who are almost 1 year old! Boy, are my arms getting stronger. He's getting ready for our super hot summer sporting his dino outfit which is a 12 month-er. He loves to ham it up for the camera. In this picture, Grandpa Okouchi tried to do a new trick, he got a flashlight to flash first so by the time his camera went off this little boy would be smiling. Sure enough, that flash did the trick.
This is a sweet smile from little Kahiau. He loves to pose for the camera, but you have to get it just right or you'll miss his wide open toothless grin. Surprisingly, he doesn't have both fists in his mouth. He's been doing this for a few weeks now, just this week he's now discovered he has fingers, YUM!

3 Month old Kahiau

Kahiau is getting his very first ukulele lesson from his daddy. Everyday Mike plays music for his baby boy. Yes we're starting him young! Kahiau usually sits quietly in his swing listening to his dad play either the guitar or the ukulele. Mike even wrote an instrument entitled "Kahiau". It's really beautiful.
Look at those cheeks! Every morning in the wee hours when this little cutie gets hungry I pick him up to feed him and whoawh! It feels like he's gained a few pounds just over night. He loves to wear his little hat when we go outside in the sun.
Me and Kahiau are outside on our balcony. I just donated my hair to Locks for Love. I've always wanted to do this and finally I was ready to cut. I've never had short hair before. My hairstylist was more nervous than I was. I really liked it and it sure makes life easier. Baby loves to see it swing!
Go Warriors, go warriors! Here's Kahiau bustin' the move in his UH baby tee. He's getting ready for the next season!
