Driving into the inferno

This is what it looked like on monday morning as I drove from Huntington Beach into Irvine. In HB we pretty much had clear skies, but as I approached Costa Mesa and Irvine, the skies began to darken due to the smoke from the fires. It was so bad on monday that I had a difficult time breathing. The air quality was something like 500% above the acceptable levels of pollutants.

Crazy. How close are the fires to Irvine now? My brother is there.

They're like 5-7 miles from my office. Yup...crazy!
